Condition A. Paper.

Founded in 1926, Northwest Airlines operated until 2008 when it merged with Delta. Following the creation of a hub in Japan in the post-World War II era, the airline dominated the trans-Pacific route and, beginning in 1947, was referred to as Northwest Orient, a name that lasted until 1986. Northwest Orient Airlines purchased 10 Boeing Stratocruiser aircraft in the late 1940s, and began flying them on the route to Hong Kong in 1951.
