From 1883, when he began his "Wild West" shows, until 1916, when he finally stopped performing, Buffalo Bill's "was to become the most sensational and widely seen show, witnessed by more than 50 million people in over 1000 cities in about 12 countries." (Buffalo Bill p. 4) Although a master showman, Bill was not a great businessman, and throughout his 33 year career he took on several different financial partners to help his show; these included James Bailey and Pawnee Bill (Major Gordon Lillie). In 1913 the "Buffalo Bill Wild West & Pawnee Bill Great Far East Show (as it was then called) collapsed. Showless, but still eager to perform, and with a name that was still a major draw, Buffalo Bill teamed up with Sells Floto, with whom he performed for two years at which point he switched, for the final time, to join the Miller brothers and their 101 Ranch show. Posters from his Sells Floto years are very rare. Not in Buffalo Bill.
