DESIGNER UNKNOWN ECCO GLI UMANITARI. Circa 1942.
39 1/4x27 1/2 inches, 99 1/2x69 1/2 cm. Pizzi & Pizio, Milan.
Condition B+ / B: vertical and horizontal folds; minor losses and discoloration in image.
Ghoulish anti-American propaganda, dispelling the stated notion that the Allied forces were "humanitarians." The photomontage depicts American forces dropping bombs on a young girl riding a merry-go-round, and is augmented by a terrifying mobster-like figure menacingly pointing his gun at her.
