William Randolph Hearst renamed his New York Morning Journal newspaper The New York American. In 1937, it merged with Evening Journal and was renamed again as the New York Journal-American. This flyer (22x17 inches unfolded) is aimed at luring a more sophisticated audience into reading the daily. The image is of the highest Art Deco standard, and inside includes both a photo of and a quotation endorsing the paper from the Broadway producer, Florenz Ziegfield. rare/span.
