- Notes: first edition, first issue, with "Boz" listed as the author; Volume 1 with illustrations leaf bound after title and all textual flaws outlined by Smith except that the "t" in "encountered" on line 8, page 35 is not battered; Volume 3 contains the "Fireside" plate and required leaf of advertisements preceding the title.
