Together, 2 silver prints, the images measuring 191x241 mm; 7½x9½ inches, the sheets slightly larger, each with a Dorothea Lange Collection, Oakland Museum of California stamp on verso.

Provenance John and Lee Dixon; to the Present Owner

Tom Collins managed the Resettlement Administration migrant labor camp in Arvin, CA. Both Lange and John Steinbeck met Tom Collins at the camp on different occasions. Collins is believed to be the inspiration for Steinbeck's camp manager Jim Rawley in The Grapes of Wrath.
