DOUBLE-FLAP LOCKING JAP BOX. The box has no top or bottom and is clearly empty, yet the magician makes it produce a large quantity of silks. Painted brown in a faux wood pattern, decorated in black and gilt. Somewhat worn. 6 3/4x12 1/2x9 1/4 inches (17x31.5x23.5 cm). France, circa 1900.
