(DULAC, EDMUND.) Contes des Mille et une Nuits.

(DULAC, EDMUND.) Contes des Mille et une Nuits. Adapted by Hadji-Mazem. 50 mounted color plates by Dulac with lettered tissue guards. Thick 4to, handsome 3/4 navy morocco over marbled boards, with gilt Arabesque design along spine, by Durvand, some light rubbing to bands, spine ends, and tips, top edge gilt; original wrappers bound in; fore-edge lightly foxed. Paris: L'Édition d'Art H. Piazza, [1912]

  • Notes: French Reprint Edition. This edition is often confused with the earlier 1908 French edition; the Library of Congress and, consequently, the NUC catalogue have catalogued it incorrectly. In addition to a different title-page design and lack of a colophon, on page [117] of this edition an announcement for other works illustrated by Dulac appears, including The Snow Queen and the new title for Tempest (which had been L''Ile Enchantée), both of which did not exist until 1911. Hughey 16ww, xx, yy.
