Daniel Murray, the donor of this book to the Library of Congress was a noted African-American Librarian, bibliographer of African-American authors, and the author of a number of books on African American writers and history. Alice Dunbar edited a collection called the Dunbar Reader following her ex-husband's death, but 'The Goodness of Saint Rocque' is her only published book.
