- Notes: first edition. A collection of 14 short stories by the wife of Paul Laurence Dunbar. Daniel Murray, the donor of this book to the Library of Congress, was a noted African-American librarian, bibliographer of African-American authors, and the author of a number of books on African-American writers and history. Alice Dunbar edited a collection called the Dunbar Reader following her ex-husband's death. She was the author of only one other book, Violets and Other Tales (1895).
