Posthumously published, this has always been one of the most elusive of Dunbar's books. This copy bears the ownership signature of Dunbar's mother, Matilda Dunbar, on the front pastedown. Additionally, there is a later inscription, possibly that of Matilda Dunbar's daughter-in-law: "To Meta from grandmother Dunbar, August 1927.".
