"The 'Broom' Theater (note the diagonal broom across the red logo) was founded in April 1928, as a stage for political satire, dealing humorously and critically with what was happening in the settlement. Emanuel Luftglas [was] a painter, art teacher and one of the first professional stage designers in Israel, who studied at the Leipzig School of Art and even worked as a stage designer for the plays of the Municipal Theater and the Hamburg Opera from 1915 until his immigration to Israel in 1926 (Emanuel served as the set designer for 'The Broom' throughout its entire existence)" (www.kedem-auctions.com).
