  • Notes: First edition. John Winthrop (1717-1779, great-great-grandson of the Massachusetts founder) was a Harvard professor, often cited as the first astronomer in America. This was his first published work on astronomy, inspired by the recent appearance of Halley's Comet. Evans 8522, Sabin 104857.
