(EARLY AMERICAN IMPRINT.) Clap, Thomas; compiler. A Catalogue of Books in the Library of Yale-College in New-Haven. [1], ii, 40, [2] pages; lacks the terminal index leaf. 8vo, later crushed morocco by Stikeman and Co., lettering on front cover worn; title-page silked and recornered, foxing and dampstaining. New Haven, 1755

  • Notes: An improved edition of Clap's first catalogue of the Yale library issued in 1743 with an additional section of "New Books." The 1755 catalogue lists approximately 1250 entries, with the library at that time containing about 3000 volumes. Both editions are extremely uncommon. Evans gives the incorrect title, having examined or copied a description of the defective New York Public Library copy. Winans locates only 7 copies, of which 2 are defective. Winans 27; Sabin 105895; Evans 7598.
