  • Notes: First American edition of a sermon which went through 4 London editions starting in 1667. Steele was a Puritan minister who was often in conflict with civil authorities after the restoration of the monarchy in 1660. Evans 7323; Sabin 91147. ESTC shows holdings at 4 institutions; none traced at auction since an incomplete copy was offered in 1904.
