(EARLY AMERICAN IMPRINT.) The Second Section of the Articles of War... The Sixth Section of the Articles of War... The Oath of Fidelity.

[caption titles]. Broadside, 13x5 1/ 2 inches; dampstained, folds, some loss at folds; early owner's ink inscriptions [see note]. [Boston or New York, 1762 ?]

  • Notes: A contemporary inscription on recto identifies this broadside as intended for "Ticonderoga, Crownpoint, Fort Edward." A contemporary inscription on verso is dated Boston 1762. Evans ascribes this broadside to the press of James Rivington in 1778, while Ford suggests a Massachusetts press in 1775. This copy is a variant of the two with differences in typesetting. The dated inscriptions on this copy of the broadside seem to indicate an earlier imprint during the French and Indian War. Evans 15838; Ford, Massachusetts Broadsides 1929.
