  • Notes: first edition of a letter written by the Great Awakening evangelist in Bethesda, Georgia on 24 December 1740. Whitefield warns in the preface that "many of my Friends who are strenuous Advocates for Universal Redemption, will be immediately offended." Evans 4647; Sabin 103556.
