Published by Cadart, Paris. From Édouard Manet: Eaux-fortes. A brilliant, dark, lifetime impression, extremely scarce in this issue.

Manet (1832-1883) based this etching on his same-titled painting from 1864, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (he had divided an earlier canvas to isolate the toreador, the other part of the canvas in now in The Frick Collection, New York). Guérin 33; Harris 55.
