  • Condition: Eikoh Hosoe's Otoko to Onna [Man and Woman] is in very fine condition. The title appears unhandled, with the printed obi and the illustrated dust jacket both neat, clean, and without apparent flaw. The stunning yellow boards are also bright and clean, with crisp, neat edges. And finally, the stunningly saturated photogravures are contrasty, lush, and beautifully rendered examples of Hosoe's evocative imagery.

The book is housed in the publisher's printed card slipcase, which is very slightly soiled.

The book is signed in Japanese in silver ink on the front flyleaf.

    Tokyo, Japan: CamerArt Inc., 1961

The photographer's scarce first book, with texts in Japanese by Ed van der Elsken and
Tatsuo Fukushima. Produced in collaboration with the dancer Hijikata Tatsumi.

An exceptional example of this important title.
