- Notes: first edition of a festschrift for Rosenstein published on his retirement from the University of Leiden. Pages 101-106 (with a plate) contain the first appearance of einthoven's galvanometrische registratie van het menschelijk electrocardiogram, giving the first description of a human electrocardiogram recorded with a string galvanometer. "Einthoven was convinced that records of the electrical activity of the heart in humans would have clinical value, and his major contribution to medicine was the development of instrumentation leading to the introduction of clinical electrocardiography"--Grolier/Norman 89.
