Condition: This elegant Eisenstaedt photograph titled "Swan Lake Rehearsal" is in overall excellent condition. There is a minor, soft handling crease at left center, which is only visible in raking light. There is also a linear area of retouching at the extreme left edge (approximately 1 inch long), in the dark area just below the window.
This dramatic photograph, with the dancers' marvelous tutus lit by a skylight, shows dark tones and demonstrates Eisenstaedt's refined sensibility. The photograph is signed on recto with the title, date and edition notations, 8/50+10 on verso and the image is reproduced in "Eisenstaedt: Remembrances," page 33.
