  • Notes:
This important print and iconic image is a scarce, early proof of Elizabeth Catlett's Sharecropper. The linoleum cut was originally printed in 1952 when it was published as Cosechadora de Algodón in the journal Artes de México in 1957. Catlett pulled various proofs in the 1950s and 60s before printing the edition in color in 1970. This impression was a trial proof made in 1968 before the printing of the edition, and was previously in the collection of the artist.
