Provenance: Gift of the artist to the current owner; private New York collection.

Exhibited: The Studio Musuem in Harlem, New York, with the gallery label.

The artist''s increased interest in Black Nationalism in the late 1960s is evident alongside her sculptural sensibilites in Black is Beautiful, and the subject of such later prints as Freedom for Angela Davis and Malcolm X Speaks for Us.
