And faithfully Englished. [30], 201 pages, including engraved frontispiece portrait of Epicurus. Ruled in red throughout. 8vo, contemporary black morocco by one of the queens' binders, lavishly blind-tooled to an all-over pattern of volutes, drawer-handle tools, volutes, grape cluster, and thistle tools, missing top portion of morocco lettering piece, top of front joint worn; split between front free endpaper and following flyleaf, portrait cropped in outer margin, few insignificant stains on preliminaries.   • Notes: Third edition of Walter Charleton's 1656 translation, the first into English, in an attractive somber binding from one of the 4 Restoration workshops known as the Queens' binders for having bound books for Catherine of Braganza and Mary of Modena in a closely similar style; see Nixon, English Restoration Bookbinding, pages 32-77 and plates 56-77.
