In 1948, William Faulkner published his first novel in six years, entitled "Intruder in the Dust," which drove Evans back to the South, where he produced photographs for his only commission from Vogue Magazine. The words of the great writer and images of the great photographer were tightly linked in their sympathetic documentation of the southern landscape. -
