F. TOTARO (DATES UNKNOWN) AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS. 1951.
43 1/2x29 inches, 111x74 cm.
Condition A: unobtrusive horizontal fold.
Aerolineas Argentinas was formed by the merger of three separate Argentine airlines in May 1949, and the company began operating in December of 1950. This would be one of the company's earliest posters. It doesn't show any of the airline's fleet, but does present images of Paris in a compelling combination of photos, graphics and colors. Although unknown, the artist was clearly familiar with European design tenets and styles.
