S.S. Manhattan Ship arrives in New York Harbor. Silver print, the image measuring 14 3/4x19 3/4 inches (37.5x50.2 cm.), the mount 19 3/4x24 3/4 inches (50.2x62.9 cm.), with the Fairchild credit in the negative, and the printed title and United States Lines information, on mount recto; framed. 1931-32

  • Notes: The Manhattan and her sister ship, the Washington, also built by New York Shipbuilding Corporation, were the largest liners ever built in the United States, and Manhattan was the first large liner built in the United States since 1905.
