Folio, original cloth, spine darkened and discolored, minor stains on covers; plate 6 loose. London: Psychological Press, 1886
- Notes: first edition. "William Eglinton (1857-?) was one of the more widely known mediums of the nineteenth century... Tissot met Eglinton in Paris in February, 1885, and after a successful seance followed him to London for a prolonged series of materializations... Farmer says that when Tissot learned of the publication of 'Twixt Two Worlds, he offered to etch a frontispiece portrait out of gratitude to Eglinton. In it, he sought to capture the medium's features as they appeared in a state of trance during a seance"--Wentworth 84. Crabtree 1139.
