This image depicts the camp of the British First Division along the shore of Dalian Bay (Talien). Rows of tents in the military encampment are visible, and in the background are ships at anchor. Open to the Korea Bay in the Yellow Sea, this bay was the rendezvous point for the British fleet in the 1860 assault on China during the Second Opium War.
