Includes over 70 typewritten letters from Mizener to Houghton Mifflin editor Paul Brooks, discussing such topics as publishing dilemmas (Scribner''s nearly brought a lawsuit regarding the timing of publication), deadlines, royalties and topics for future biographies (on the prescience of writing about Hemingway: "Would it not be better to put off this project until H dies--one hopes conveniently soon!--rather than contemplate it as an immediate affair.") Other letters are written by Fitzgerald friend, agent, and executor Harold Ober, Judge John Biggs, editor/publishers William Targ and Edward Weeks, and several others. an interesting and unique piece of fitzgerald scholarship.
