FLOWN Apollo 15 Robbins Medallion. Approximately 1.25 inches in diameter circular medallion, encased in a 3-inch diameter lucite disk. The medallion features the Apollo 15 mission emblem with the mission dates engraved on the reverse. Serial number 039. Robbins Co., 1971

  • Notes: The landing site name was incorrectly spelled "Appennies" on the reverse. It should only have one "p." The medallions could not be re-struck in time to make the July 26, 1971 launch date. A decision was made to fly only the first 127, with the incorrect spelling. All Apollo 15 Robbins medallions starting with serial number 128 have the spelling corrected but were not flown on the flight. With a Typed Letter Signed by Mrs. Irwin.
  • Condition: All items are offered for sale subject to Swann Galleries' standard terms and conditions of sale, which are published in our catalogues.
