FLOWN Beta Cloth "Ball Cap." A cap used by Paul Weitz during the Skylab I mission. It features a large bill with a military "scrambled eggs" marking on the top and blue colored beta material (to reduce glare) on the bottom. Approximately 11 inches in length, front to back. NASA/MSC, 1973
- Notes: Skylab I commander Charles "Pete" Conrad had a special fondness for "ball caps" of this type. Just as he did for Apollo 12, he had a set of these caps made for his Skylab I crew to use during the actual mission. On the underside of the bill, Paul Weitz has inscribed: "Flown and worn on Skylab I (SL-2), Paul Weitz, PLT." With a Typed Letter Signed providing additional flight details.
