FLOWN Large United States Flag. An approximately 8x11 inch flag carried to the Moon on Apollo 14 in the Command Module "Kittyhawk." NASA/MSC, 1971
- Notes: One of the few large flags flown on this mission. The size and weight of this flag eliminated the opportunity to fly approximately 5 smaller 4x6 inch flags. The flag has been inscribed and signed by Dr. Mitchell with: "Flown to the Moon aboard Apollo 14, Edgar Mitchell" along the lower two white bars. With a Typed Letter Signed by Mitchell which provides additional history about the flag and mission.
