FLOWN Skylab CM Heat Shield Plug

FLOWN Skylab CM Heat Shield Plug. An approximately 4x4x4 inch Lucite cylinder containing a 2-inch tall plug removed from the Skylab I (CM 116) heat shield. The mission dates are engraved in black at the base of the cylinder. The top part of the plug has turned black from the high temperatures generated by atmospheric friction during the crew''s return to earth. With a Typed Letter Signed by Paul Weitz stating the plug is from his collection. NASA/MSC, 1973
