Etching, aquatint and roulette, 1778. 282x170 mm; 11 1/8x6 3/4 inches, small margins. Third edition, but before the beveling of the plate. A superb impression of this scarce print, with the finest roulette work printing clearly and with subtle tonal gradations.
Harris lists the size of the first edition as "very small" and the subsequent 2 editions scarce as well. We have found only 4 other impressions at auction in the last 20 years. Delteil 12; Harris 11.
