' Tipped in is a small broadside relating to Franklin's trip to Pails on the sad occasion of his son's death. He comments on the lack of racial prejudice toward blacks in France. Henry Franklin was an ex-slave whose slave name was Bill Budd; his father's name fared Budd. The sketch is interesting as a slave narrative giving the history of Franklin's family as slaves and their subsequent freedom. Not in any of the standard references.
