Condition B+: restored losses in top and left margin; repaired tears at edges, some affecting image. Framed.
Mizen was a prominent illustrator, painter and art teacher who worked for the Sears, Roebuck & Co. Catalog, Coca-Cola and contributed work to the Saturday Evening Post, Collier's and other magazines. During the 1930s, "out West, a coalition of nearly thirty railroads pooled their resources against the auto and introduced the 'Travel By Train' campaign. Their cooperative effort produced nearly a dozen posters portraying a range of national destinations. Most notable were New York's Fith Avenue by Fred Mizen and western landscapes by Denver artists H.M. Veenstra and Oscar Bryn" (Zega p. 109). rare. We could only find one other example at auction.
