FRITZ THAULOW Tovaer.

FRITZ THAULOW
Tovaer.

Color aquatint, circa 1905. 485x615 mm; 19x24 1/4 inches, wide margins. Signed and inscribed "No. 9" in pencil, lower margin. Published by Georges Petit, Paris, with the blind stamp lower left. A very good, dark impression.

Thaulow (1847-1906) is among the best known Norwegian Impressionist artists of the late 19th century. He moved to Paris in 1892 and remained there until his death, though he found subjects to paint outside of Paris, in places like Dieppe, Quimperle and Beaulieu--sur-Dordogne, more appealing. Poulsson 18.
