The original text first appeared in the 1643 edition of the Venerable Bede's Historia ecclesiastica in Anglo-Saxon. Lowndes, page 2196; Potthast, page 290; Wing A3185. With the signature of the mathematician and barrister Francis Maseres (1731-1824) dated 13 February 1760.
