Directly after he finished school in Monza in 1936, Pintori was hired by Adriano Olivetti. He stayed with the company for 31 years, ultimately heading Olivetti''s graphic design department between 1950 and 1967. Olivetti was revolutionary in the progressive way in which he handled his company''s advertising, turning "his graphic arts campaign into a total social and commercial restructuring of his company." Pintori oversaw a prodigious output of advertisements, many of them his own designs, but also many by such prominent artists as Lionni, Glaser, Folon and Savignac.
