  • Notes: Gorey left Doubleday in 1959 to join Jason Epstein (later of the New York Review of Books), Norman Podhoretz, and Celia Carroll at the successful but short-lived Looking Glass Library where he served as art director and editor.

    The set contains original collections or reprints of various titles intended for adolescents; Numbers 4 and 9 have covers and text illustrations by Edward Gorey, others contain some lettering or design elements by him.
