Handsomely matted and framed. Np, 1981 E3,000/4,000 SIGNED AND DATED BY GORLEIGH, born in Penllyn, Pennsylvania in 1902. He stud-ied at Howard; the University of Chicago; Andre L'Hote Academie, Paris; also studied privately with Xavier Bavile, New York. Teacher at Harlem Art Center (1936-37), WPA. His works were exhibited at the Harmon Foundation (1936); American Negro Exposition, Chicago (1940); Augusta Savage Studios (1939), and a one-man show at Lambertville House, New Jersey (1961). Awards from New Jersey Council on the Arts; Grant from New Jersey State Council on the Arts; and the Afro-American Award for Superior Services. [SEE ILLUSTRATION]
