GOULD, JAY. Two Autograph Letters Signed. The first, to F.A. Brooks, reporting figures relating to a railroad and possibly other business transactions and stating that he is "going to night to Salem to bring Judges Gibson & Napes[?] to New York to settle all things on Monday." 2 pages, small 8vo, written on the recto and verso of a single sheet; some toning at edges, horizontal folds. The second, to D.G. Morgan, concerning the inspection, shipment, and quarrying of slate. 1 1/4 pages, 8vo, with integral blank, written on the first and second pages; small area of loss at top edge of both leaves, folds, minor soiling. New York, 11 October 1861; 28 December 1865
