Group of 3 manuscript record books in Greek, written by multiple scribes mostly in formal minuscule and partly in informal hands in brownish black ink with initials and headings in red and occasional hand-drawn strapwork or other decoration, on laid paper. Various sizes, early 20th-century crude wrappers made of wall- or wrapping paper; some soiling, dampstaining, and minor worming not impairing legibility. eastern Mediterranean, 17th-18th centuries?

  • Notes: One manuscript (52 leaves, 310x218 mm, heavily dampstained) contains the chronological record of the proceedings of a monastic institution; another (128 leaves, 220x160 mm) is a compilation of names of priests, monks, nuns, et al., including atypically Italianate names, possibly from the Ionian Islands; and another (99 leaves, 296x204 mm) contains lists of names organized by locales ranging from Constantinople to villages in various parts of Greece and the Balkans(?), with portions of some leaves excised.
