Signed in the lower left corner and dated 1871 18x 22. 25 inches; backed with heavy stock; couple of large chips at margins not affecting the main image; part of signature torn away, but legible. Depicts celebration of some sort with great detail. Though the work is dated 1871, this possibly depicts the installation of Nissage-Saget in 1870 Nissage-Saget lasted 4 years, a long term in this ever turbulent nation's history. A very attractive piece. Should Be Seen. Np Santo Domingo?, 1871 E750-1000 Shows a group of soldiers in the streets, a few on horseback, one playing a piccolo, a few civilians looking on, including several children; flag hoisted in the background.
