HAJEK-HALKE, HEINZ (1898 - 1983)
"Nachtliche Impression." Ferrotyped silver print, 15 1/4x11 1/2 inches (38.7x29.2 cm.), with Hajek-Halke's hand stamp, additional hand stamps, and a typed text label attached to verso. 1947
- Notes: A lyrical image by Heinz Hajek-Halke, who was one of Germany's foremost photomontagists. Originally a photographer for Presse-Photo Berlin, he experimented with montage and cut-outs in 1925. The typewritten caption explains that this print was produced by the movement of a wire in combination with a photogram, a sculptural form that Hajek-Halke referred to as "Lichtgrafik."
