"Hall was Shakespeare's son-in-law, having married Shakespeare's elder daughter Susanna in 1607; his Select Observations is interesting primarily as a piece of medical Shakespeareana" (Norman). The text consists of case notes from his practice in Stratford upon Avon, posthumously translated and published by James Cooke from Hall's manuscript in Latin. Bartlett 376; Norman 971; Wing H356.
