- Notes: Hamilton (1775-1804) politician and statesman, served in the Revolution as an aide-de-camp to Washington, served in the Continental Congress, first U. S. Secretary of the Treasury 1789-95, appointed Inspector General of the U. S. Army with the rank of Major General 1798-1800, killed from wounds suffered in a duel with Aaron Burr.
