Hand-forged iron "tree" fetish for the spirit Ogun, 13 1/2 inches high and
12 inches wide, shaped in the form of a "T" with 21 small symbolic instruments (hatchets, knives, etc.) hanging from the two branches of the "T"; minor rust. Bahia, circa 1950 African (Yoruba) derived fetish to the god Ogun, divinity of iron, tools for farming, war, and hunting. Iron sculpture is common with the Yoruba and can signify a number of things - much larger examples (from 5 to 6 feet) are common in Africa.
