HANS KALMSTEINER (1886-?) [HUNTING EXHIBITION.] 1910.

36 1/2x25 inches. J. Weiner, Wien.
Condition A-: vertical and horizontal folds; pinholes in top corners. Japan.
Kalmsteiner was a graphic designer who also did a lot of painting on china. He was active in Vienna and exhibited at the Kunstschau in 1908 and 1909. This poster is typical of the Viennese Secession style, with hints of Greek and Roman antiquity mixed with stylized decoration. The text, which quite curiously is in Bulgarian, reads "Under the Highest Auspices of his Imperial and Tzarist Apostolic Majesty, Emperor Franz Joseph the 1st: The First International Hunter´s Exhibition, from May until October, Vienna 1910."
